Cookies & Browser Storage

“Cookies” is used here in the broad sense: cookies and equivalent browser storage such as localStorage and sessionStorage. We only describe mechanisms that are actually implemented; no cookie names are listed unless they are verified in our code.

• Consent choice. Your analytics/marketing choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key lt12_consent_v1, together with the date you decided. An older opt-out flag named analytics_opt_out is still honoured if it exists on your device.
• Language preference. Your chosen language is stored in localStorage under lt12.locale.
• Analytics — consent only. PostHog and Google Analytics 4 are loaded only after you grant analytics consent, and are switched off again if you withdraw it. Without consent, no analytics script is requested at all. A browser “Do Not Track” signal keeps them off regardless of a stored consent.
• Attribution. Campaign, referrer and landing-page information about your visit is only persisted to browser storage when analytics consent is active.
• Marketing toggle. The preferences dialog includes a marketing toggle. Today it only records your preference — no marketing or advertising tag is implemented on this site, so granting it currently has no tracking effect.
• Booking progress. While you are working through a booking, your in-progress booking draft is kept in sessionStorage so a refresh does not lose it. It is cleared when the booking completes.
• Sign-in sessions. If you sign in to a Latitude12 account, the authentication service stores a session in your browser. This is necessary for the account to work.

• Functional storage only. The booking summary needed to carry your selection across the confirmation step is kept in sessionStorage. Search and filter choices are carried in the page address, not stored in your browser.
• No analytics or advertising. That site currently loads no analytics, tag-manager or advertising software.

Both sites load typefaces from Google’s font service. Your browser therefore makes a request to Google when a page loads, which discloses your IP address and browser information to Google as part of that request. Whether to self-host these fonts instead is an open decision recorded in our launch blockers.

When you reach the payment step, the payment provider’s hosted components may set their own storage for fraud prevention and to operate the payment form. This is necessary to take payment.

If either site later adds a technology that requires consent — analytics on BookCuraçao.com, or any marketing or advertising tag — it will not run before consent is collected for it, and this notice will be updated first.
