Foz do Iguaçu is a base for the Iguaçu National Park rather than a destination to rush through between flights. The park protects Atlantic Forest and the Brazilian side of the falls; its visitor areas and trails make timing and transport part of the day. It suits travellers who want to give the landscape proper time. An urban overnight can work, but it is a different experience from staying close to the park and organising the visit around it.
